MP becomes Patron of violence against women campaign

The MP for Brighton Pavilion has been named as a Patron of the national For Our Daughters campaign.

Speaking in support of the online campaign, which aims to commemorate the victims of sexist violence and fight gender inequality, Caroline said:

"Far more needs to be done to tackle the high rates of gendered violence in our society.

"This should include putting pressure on the Government and the legal profession to recognise cases of sexual violence and abuse as hate crimes against women and girls.

"I wholeheartedly support the For Our Daughters campaign as a way to remember the lives of all those women and girls who have died as a result of domestic and sexual violence - and to push for urgent change, as well as greater public awareness, to protect future generations."
