Letter to the Minister for Equalities about conversion therapy

The Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss

Minister for Equalities

8 March 2021

Dear Minister for Equalities,

I have been contacted by over a hundred constituents to call for a ban on LGBTQ+ conversion therapy

As you know, gay to straight conversion therapy is an archaic and harmful practice, and I am writing to reiterate my support for a legislative ban on conversion therapy.

I firmly believe that this type of therapy should be outlawed and that forcing people to attend conversion therapy should be a criminal offence.

I would like to know what you are doing, in line with your responsibilities as Minister for Equalities, to commit to making this dangerous and unethical practice illegal in the UK.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,
