Hollingdean & Stanmer

We're proud of Hollingdean & Stamner from the award-winning Hertford primary school to our beautiful parks.

Hollingdean & Stanmer ward takes in the city parks Wild Park and Stanmer Park, with its village namesake, as well as diverse housing from student residences in the north-east to the tranquil suburban neighbourhood of Coldean. To the south the ward runs as far east as Lewes Road and the Bates Estate, west to Ditchling Road at Fiveways, and south along Hollingdean Road and the waste and recycling depot at the southern point of the Hollingdean neighbourhood.

Whether it's supporting our youngest children through Sure Start or developing leaders of the future at the city's two universities, Caroline cares deeply about education and leaving a better world for our young people.

She's standing up to the broken Westminster consensus on tuition fees, for decent, affordable housing, safer communities and fairer fares on the buses.

Standing up for Hollingdean & Stamner

  • Secure housing
  • Caroline has called on Ministers to help fund a mass programme of sustainable council housing, to scrap the Bedroom Tax and for secure tenancies and affordable private sector rents
  • Local advice 'surgeries'
  • Caroline has held local advice surgeries including at the Sure Start Centre on Brentwood Road and on the number 50 bus
  • Goodbye to tuition fees
  • Caroline is opposed to tuition fees. She campaigned and voted against lifting the cap and called instead for big businesses to be taxed to help fund investment in higher education
  • Local schools
  • Caroline has visited pupils and teachers at Hertford Infant school, who won a Green Flag for their education on the environment, to see the playground project they’ve been working on
