House prices in the city are almost 25% above the national average.
There are 12,000 names on the waiting list for social housing in the city.
Brighton and Hove's Green councillors have campaigned for the council to donate housing land to provide new homes for rent and low cost home ownership.
They have also:
• Supported the call by the Citizens' Advice Bureau for proper regulation of letting agents and landlords.
• Called for the council to revive the private rented sector forum to bring relevant organisations together to drive forward Improvements.
Good landlords and letting agents have nothing to fear from regulation and partnership.
If elected as an MP, Caroline will push for:
• A Right to Rent scheme for local authorities to purchase homes threatened by repossession and rent them back to occupiers
• Greater support for housing co-operatives including easier access to finance.
